Firefighters rescue adorable kitten trapped inside car
A very lucky kitten has used up one of its nine lives on Tuesday when it became trapped inside the engine bay of a car in northeastern Queensland.
Four firefighters were called in to save the little moggy after a woman heard it making a noise under the bonnet of her vehicle in Townsville.
They were transformed into mechanics when they were forced to pull apart the car, trying to find out where the noise was coming from.
"We pulled up at Woolworths to do some shopping and we came back to the car and one of my workmates thought she heard a cat and we all laughed of course,” the car owner told 7 News.
"At the moment mate we're just trying to make access into behind the wheel arch where we think the kitten located and once we've done that we should be able to get the cat out,” David McBaron a station officer attending the scene said at the time.
Crews played a game of cat and mouse with the hidden kitten for around 40 minutes until finally the tiny stowaway was rescued.
It's not known where the kitten came from, but a new potential owner became quickly smitten by the kitten.
"I rocked up to work and it was all happening, awe it has chosen me,” Quest Hotel worker Sarah Strozkiy said of her new found friend.
"Absolutely great result, good work from all of the guys working in the job, as you saw it was all hands on deck,” McBaron said of the miracle rescue.
