WATCH: Baby shocks medical staff by walking minutes after birth
A baby girl has stunned hospital staff in Brazil after she tried to walk reportedly minutes after she was born.
Video has emerged of the tiny tot, held in a midwife’s arms, beginning to pump her legs in a walking motion.
In a Spanish translation provided by the Sun, nurses are absolutely shocked by the baby’s sudden urge to walk.
“Oh my gosh, the girl is walking,” a nurse says.
“Good gracious!”
The midwife explains she was trying to give the baby a bath but the child just wants to get up and walk.
The midwife tries to put the child down but she pushes off again and tries to walk.
“Heavens above,” she says.
“If you told people what has just happened no one would believe it unless they saw it with their own eyes.”
It normally takes about eight to 12 months for a child to begin walking.
It’s unknown whose baby it is and where the incident happened.
But the Sun believes the insignia on the midwife’s robes suggest she works at a Santa Cruz Hospital, in a city in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, south Brazil.
