Heartbroken pup who was left at pound has found a loving new family

A heartbroken pup who was left at the pound has reportedly found a happy new home after footage of her went viral.

A video emerged on Facebook of the four-year-old pitbull-mix named Electra, who was left at an animal shelter.

The video prompted calls for the dog to be adopted and it's claimed the dog has since found a happy home in San Diego with a family who are “home all the time.”

Tiffany Tan, who runs dog shelter JL Animal Rescue in California, reportedly raced to the pound when she heard the news of Electra.

She has now managed to match up the pooch with loving family.

“This dog, you will not believe this dog now,” she told News.com.au.

“She’s a single mum and she has a daughter that’s sixteen.”

Ms Tan said she had been over every day to check on the dog and said she wasn’t “the same dog we took out of a shelter.”

But she said there’s still a chance Electra won’t forget her traumatic experience.

“I think they remember a little bit, there’s something that triggers a memory,” Ms Tan said.

“But once they’re secure in their environment, they adapt to it and it’s OK.”
