'They're evil losers': Donald Trump slams those behind Manchester suicide attack

US President Donald Trump has labelled the people behind the Manchester suicide attack as “evil losers.”

Reuters reports Trump, speaking after talks with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas in Bethlehem, said the United States stands in "absolute solidarity" with the British people.

"I extend my deepest condolences to those so terribly injured in this terrorist attack, and to the many killed and the families, so many families of the victims," he said.

"So many young, beautiful innocent people living and enjoying their lives murdered by evil losers in life.”

The attack killed 22 people and injured 59 at an Ariana Grande concert at the Manchester Arena.

Police have since arrested a 23-year-old man in connection with the bombing.

Trump said society “can have no tolerance for this continuation of bloodshed.”

"The terrorists and the extremists and those who give them aid and comfort must be driven out of our society forever,” he said.

“This wicked ideology must be obliterated, and I mean completely obliterated."

The US President’s comments reflect British Prime Minister Theresa May’s denouncing of the bombing of a concert, which was “packed with young children.”

“We struggle to comprehend the warped and twisted mind that sees a room packed with young children not as a scene to cherish but as an opportunity for carnage,” she said.

The Prime Minister condemned the “cowardice” of the attacker and hailed those who rushed to help.

She said they had shown “the spirit of Britain … a spirit that through years of conflict and terrorism has never been broken and will never be broken.”
