Billy Bush breaks silence on Trump's 'grab them by the p****' tape

TV personality Billy Bush has revealed the true damage caused to his family by his infamous bus conversation with Donald Trump about groping women.

Bush was fired from his role as a host on NBC’s Today program after a lewd exchange with Trump was leaked into the public.

“You just kiss...when you're a star they let you do it. You can do anything... just grab them by the p****” Trump was heard boasting to Bush.

While the tape was thought to all but derail Trump’s presidential campaign, it was Bush who suffered the consequences at work and at home.

"There was a powerful moment, my now 16-year-old daughter called me and she was in tears," Bush told Good Morning America.

Bush said his lewd exchange with Trump back in 2005 left his daughter devastated.

"She was really upset, and I said, 'Mary, it's, it's going to be OK. You know, don't worry’,” Bush said.

She said, 'no, why were you laughing at the things that he was saying on that bus? Why were you playing along with it, dad? It wasn't funny’.”

"I said, 'Mary, I am sorry. And there is no good answer for that.'"

The conversation, that Trump played down as “locker room talk”, took place while he and Bush were arriving on the set of "Days of Our Lives" in 2005 for an "Access Hollywood" segment about the businessman's cameo on the soap opera.

The tape's release provoked a storm of criticism of Trump, who went on to defeat Hillary Clinton in the 2016 presidential election just a few weeks later, weeks later Bush was fired.
