12-year-old boy charged over service station robbery

An 12-year-old boy has been charged with armed robbery in Queensland.

Police say the boy entered an Gold Coast service station just after nine last night threatening a female staff member with a knife.

He escaped on foot with hundreds of dollars in cash in Upper Coomera.

Police found the boy at a nearby home and recovered all the stolen money.

No one was injured during the incident.

Police said the boy had only just turned 12 and is in grade seven.

The boy will face court today.
