Little girl grabs toy gun to protect milk-bar owner dad from armed robber

A four-year-old girl has tried to defend her father following an armed robbery, grabbing a toy gun as she looked for her dad's alleged attacker.

The incident unfolded the night before at a Dandenong North milk bar in Victoria, where a masked man had allegedly started to make threats.

The thug was filmed adjusting his hood and mask on the way in about 7pm Sunday night, but not enough to cover his white skin or disguise his desperate need for cash.

His alleged demands for money had the owner fearing for his safety.

Nine months ago, the couple who own the milk bar were threatened by two offenders carrying large knives.

They are still waiting for justice over that scare.

The traders in this area don't take their security for granted, and with good reason.

Despite the precautions they take to protect themselves, they fear the next crime is only a matter of time.

The latest armed robbery provoked a strong response from the owner's four year old daughter, who picked out a toy gun and went looking for the crook after the fact.

The crook didn't bother to wear gloves and left behind a set of finger prints.
