A young woman was changing a flat tyre on her second day in Sydney when she was struck and killed by a minibus in a horror crash early yesterday morning.

The 24-year-old had just relocated from the Central Coast to Sydney one day before the incident.

A man is said to be traumatised after witnessing the incident unfold when he stopped behind Ms Miller’s car with intentions of helping her change the tyre.

The minibus smashed into both the vehicles before hitting Ms Miller.

It’s believed she left her home just moments before being hit and was on her way to the city.

She suffered critical injuries and died at the scene.

The man who stopped to help her managed to escape unscathed but was treated for shock by paramedics.

It's believed Ms Miller moved to North Sydney to live with her best friend with many posts on her social media displaying her excitement at the prospect.

Just days before her death she posted: “Living with people who I love is going to be amazing and I can’t wait for the fun to begin.”

She was a commercial insurance underwriter and moved to Sydney from Woy Woy.

Road safety experts say that although it was not Ms Miller's fault, they urge drivers to ensure they're taking all the correct steps to maximise safety when it comes to car trouble in potentially dangerous locations.

Turning hazard lights on, parking as far left as you can, calling road side assist and staying in the car with your seatbelt on if you can't do anything are all on the list.
