Heartwarming moment bride asks fiancé's disabled sister to be bridesmaid

A touching gesture from a bride-to-be has gone viral after she asked her fiancé's severely disabled sister to be her bridesmaid.

A horrific 2011 car accident in Tennessee left Jessie Torres with a severe brain injury that has taken its toll on her mother and caregiver Lenore Torres.

"The first two years, she was pretty much unresponsive," her brother and groom-to-be, Derrick Torres, told a local news publication.

"She pretty much just had a blank stare. You looked at her, she didn't look back at you. It was hard to tell if she even understood her surroundings."

So when bride-to-be Nichole Sullivan handed Lenore a note to read, everyone in the room was brought to tears before the video went viral around the world.

“Soon you will be my sister, until then, will you be my bridesmaid?” the card read.

"She's staring at me and she's just beaming, smiling," Nichole said.

"She wouldn’t stop staring at me the whole night while we were still standing there – she just kept staring and you could tell she was happy about it."

The video has since gone viral around the world, receiving more than a million views on social media and YouTube.
