‘Come any closer and I'll thump you’: Tempers flare at scene of ‘targeted’ house fire
There were heated scenes on Saturday morning following a house fire that's left two men homeless.
One of the residents at Elizabeth Downs in South Australia lashed out after being taunted by neighbours who say they are glad to see the back of him.
“Come any closer and I'll f****** thump you one, now f*** off,” a man said to 7 News.
However, neighbours have no sympathy for the two men who have lost their Kenner Street home.
“I'm cheering they're gone, that’s them solved, less stress for us, less panic,” said one neighbour.
When MFS crews arrived just after 9am, smoke was billowing from the property, but no one was home when firefighters went in.
“They found that there was extensive damage to the kitchen area which has extended to include the roof and has caused some structural damage,” said MFS’ Noel Dodd.
Police are still investigating what sparked the blaze, but there are fears it was a targeted attack.
The words "get out you *******" are written on a wall by the front door.
The resident refused to respond to claims made by several neighbours.
“Keep it up and I'll f****** thump you one, I don't want to be on TV,” said the man who appeared on 7 News on Saturday night.
“If anybody knows some information about the cause of the fire, please let us know,” pleaded Dodd.
The damage bill is put at $100,000.
