Billionaire sells Sydney mansion for $22.5m 'due to bad feng shui'

A Chinese property developer has sold his Sydney mansion for a whopping $22.5 million because he was concerned about its bad feng shui.

It’s understood Ying Li originally planned to demolish the Mosman residence and completely rebuild, but that its negative feng shui was a major turn-off.

Listed two years ago for $25 million, the 5150-square-metre home has been left largely vacant and untouched for the past five years as Ying Li lives overseas.

The Chinese billionaire reportedly developed bad feelings towards the mansion due to the fact it is set directly across the water from the sharp promontory Fig Tree Point, which points at it like an arrowhead.

The huge property was bought by an Australian family from Sydney's eastern suburbs.

Boasting five bedrooms, a swimming pool, tennis court, slipway, boatshed, tidal beach and separate guest house, the property last traded for $20 million when it was sold in 2012.

The listing agent declined to confirm the sale price.
