Left blue faced: Man tricked into dressing as Smurfette for day out

A man was forced to spend a day out with friends dressed as a Smurfette after falling victim to an hilarious prank.

Expecting a day at the darts in fancy dress with his pals, Darren Buckley, 27, went 'full-Smurfette' with a blue face, blonde wig and white dress.

The only problem was that when his friends from Bolton in England arrived to pick him up, they had opted for normal clothes instead.

Footage of the embarrassing incident was posted online by Brody Walmsley, 26, who can be seen driving to pick up Darren with another friend Bradley Mills, 25, in the car too.

Darren is first spotted in the video waving his arms in the air to flag down his friends, but his excitement soon turns to embarrassment when he realise his friends have not come as members of the Smurf family.

Brody posted the video on Facebook and said: “Watch this video please. We are going out tonight and have told Darren for two weeks that we are going in fancy dress. He’s only gone and fell for it.”

Despite Darren’s demands to be taken home so he could change, Brody confirmed they drove straight to the venue instead.

“It was just a joke between friends and it seems everyone else seems to find it funny,” added Brody.

“Smurfs was the plan just because of the body paint being irreversible, anything else he could of got changed out of. He’s gullible yes but he was sold on the idea and really wanted to do it so there wasn’t much persuasion.”

The video, which was posted on 23 March, has been viewed nearly 400,000 times on Facebook with over 4,500 shares.
