‘He’s a bundle of joy’: Adorable toddler with bionic arm runs riot during news interview
You can’t keep a happy toddler down, as little Sol Smith-Ryan proved as he charged around the TV studio without a care in the world during a news segment about his bionic arm.
Sol was on-air for a news feature about the revolutionary bionic arm his father had created for him.
Designed to improve his standard of life, Sol proved he’s already the life of the party by darting around the studio with a large beaming smile on his face.
Britain's ITV Lunchtime News invited Sol and his parents Ben and Kate on the show to discuss the bionic limb Ben created using an XBox and 3D printer.
While the brilliance of Dad’s invention got him on screen, Sol made a name for himself by joyfully circling his parents and presenter Alastair Stewart on set.
“You have seen what he is like, he’s a bundle of joy,” said proud mum Kate on the show, as the camera cuts to Sol rolling around on the floor in the cutest TV report going.
Sol’s arm was amputated shortly after birth when doctors discovered a blood clot.
He would have to wait until he was three or four for an electronic replacement limb, until Ben decided to create one himself.
The prosthetic limb has an operational thumb, controlled using his elbow to squash fluid inside.
Let's hope it makes the little trooper even happier.
