Living on the sun? Queensland man cooks egg in driveway

The question must be asked: Are we currently living on the surface of the sun?

It’s so hot in Queensland today that there is no need to flip on the fry pan, your eggs will literally cook on any surface, including your own driveway.

A hungry man, fed up with the heat, has taken to social media to post his hilarious attempt at cooking the perfect egg.

“Right-o the ground’s 69 degrees, and the pans 62,” he begins in the Aussie-as-ever clip.

“Let’s see if we can cook an egg," the Dalby resident ponders.

He then cracks an egg into a seemingly hot pan and states, “Well give it 10 minutes and see what it does.”

Returning a short time later the would-be chef admits that, “it not cooked perfectly and I wouldn’t eat it but it’s hot enough to cook an egg in the sun.”

Queenslanders are currently in the grip of a heatwave with top of 34C is forecast for Brisbane on Saturday, which is five degrees above the average maximum for this time of year.

Slightly cooler conditions are expected on the Gold Coast, while temperatures of around 40C are tipped in the state's southwest.
