'Where's Wally' fugitive live-streams handing himself into police

A man who had taunted police officers changed his Facebook profile picture to Where's Wally and live streamed the moment he handed himself in.

UK Police had deployed a helicopter and sniffer dogs in their search for JJ McMenamin over the weekend, who was wanted in connection with alleged driving offences.

The 30-year-old made sure he went down with flair by uploading a photo to Facebook of his face superimposed on a Where’s Wally shot along with the caption: "Dude... I'm right here."

In another image, he described himself as a being the "Hide Seek Champion 2016-2017”.

On Monday morning he filmed himself on Facebook Live, dressed in Wally's famous red and white stripes as his friends drove him to the police station.

In the video he said: "I'm right outside the cop shop now. There's f***ing buzzies everywhere.”

Another video showed him playing Kenny Rogers' The Gambler, Lionel Richie's Hello - laughing at the the line, "is it me you're looking for?".

He also filmed himself dancing to Spencer Davis Group's Keep On Running.

A spokeswoman from North Yorkshire Police said: "A 30-year-old man from Middleham has been arrested after he handed himself in to officers at Harrogate Police Station.

"The arrest comes after extensive police searches for the man over the weekend, after he failed to turn up for a court hearing for driving offences."
