Critics label 'super strength' toddler video as a 'complete hoax'

They say never let the truth get in the way of a good story, but it appears that adage never made it into the realms of social media.

Footage of a toddler showing remarkable strength to lift a toppled dresser of his trapped twin, has been labeled a hoax just days after it went viral.

The twins can be seen playing with empty drawers in their bedroom before the dresser falls and traps little Brock.

Seconds later, two-year-old Bowdy lifts the dresser off him.

The absence of parents, a perfectly pointed camera angle and empty dresser drawers were just some of the flaws that Facebook users pointed out as the video made its rounds.

After the family of four appeared on CNN swearing by its authenticity, social media users claimed that the boys’ father Ricky Shoff worked for the nanny cam company that the camera was filmed on.

“HOAX! Come on people, nothing in the drawers! Dad works for cam company! Cam facing wrong direction! No one comes right away! FRAUD. 15 minutes of fame,” one doubter wrote on Facebook.

“Don’t get played; video of a twin using his super toddler strength to lift a dresser off his brother is most likely a hoax,” another tweeted.

"We went back and looked at the video because it records all movement, I pulled it up and watched it and we already knew they were okay," Ricky Shoff said.

"My heart dropped as you can imagine, and I'm like how could this happen? So I'm watching it for like a minute and a half, watching it unfold and then Bowdy does what he did.

"We couldn't believe it, we thought he would be hurt."
