Sally Faulkner shares heartbreaking photo of daughter

The Australian mother detained in a Lebanon jail over a misguided attempt to recover her children has shared a heartbreaking new photo.

Sally Faulkner posted the photo of daughter Lahela looking lost and outcast at her Lebanese school as happy classmates smile for the camera.

Ms Faulkner was forced to give up custody of Lahela and son Noah in return for her release from a Beirut jail in April.

The mother-of-two had gone to Lebanon to try and bring her children home after their father and Ms Faulkner’s former husband Ali Elamine took the kids in Lebanon in May 2015 for a holiday, but refused to return.

“This was enough to break me into a million pieces today,” Ms Faulkner posted with the sad photo of Lahela.

“Ali look at our little girl’s face!

“Isn't this enough for you?”

Ms Faulkner said she came across the photo of her daughter by trawling through websites in a bid to see her children.

“She looks so lost! I miss you Lahela,” Ms Faulkner posted.

“I hope you were looking out the window dreaming of the moment you and your brother come home and are truly happy again.

“I just want to cuddle you and never let go.

“Don't be sad baby. Please don't be sad.”

The post comes just days after Ms Faulkner posted a Christmas tribute to her children, who have been out of the country for almost two years.

“One day I'll make this right and you will know that your mummy never gave you up,” Ms Faulkner added.
