Pair of women filmed 'dealing substance' on packed public train

Two women were filmed apparently "dealing a substance" on a suburban train in Melbourne's western suburbs.

A man, only identified as Jason, filmed the incident while he was travelling to the city on the Sunbury Metro train line on December 13 at 1:40pm.

Jason, a former railway officer, told 7 News Online that he saw four people, two men and two women, board the train together at St Auburns.

He said the two females sat in front of him and did what he said was an apparent "drug deal".

Jason said the woman wearing a pink shirt handed the other cash before he began filming.

"One of them popped the 'lolly' in her mouth and handed over the bottle to the woman wearing pink," he said.

Jason said the women were using a prescription bottle as a container and claims the pills inside were a "mixed variety colours and shapes".

He said one of the two men had earlier staggered off the train at Tottenham and appeared to be substance affected.

He claims the other allegedly "finished his cigarette inside the carriage" before asking Jason if he had cigarette papers.

Police are aware of the video of the incident.

A formal report has not been received in relation to the incident.

Victoria Police said they take all reports of offences on public transport seriously.

"We are committed to an ongoing focus to maintain the safety of commuters," they told 7 News Online.
