Mum releases horrific photos of teen daughter hoping to identify her debilitating illness

A distressed mum has released terrifying photos of her teenage daughter whose mystery illness has her bleeding from the mouth and covered in a horrific rash in the hopes of identifying the disorder.

Vicky Archer contracted the unidentified illness during a holiday in September and has been forced to spend her 15th birthday in an isolation room, the Bristol Post reports.

Her mother, Alison Archer, has released the photos hoping that they will help to identify the debilitating illness that is taking over her body.

Vicky, from Yate in the UK, was bitten by a mosquito on holiday in Menorca, Spain, but only fell ill when she had returned to school one month later.

She suffered liver inflammation, bleeding from her mouth and swelling in body parts including her: lips, tongue, eyes, fingers, ankles and legs, the newspaper reported.

Vicky also finds it difficult to eat and has lost more than six kilograms.

A doctor had suggested that Vicky take sleeping pills, but her condition only worsened and she was admitted to Bristol Children's Hospital on September 21.

Doctors are unable to diagnose the disease and will do tests and scans to see if she has HSP Vasculitis, a form of vasculitis that affects the skin, joints, bowels and kidneys.

"We are pretty certain she has HSP Vasculitis, she needs an MRI to confirm this before consultants will treat her," Mrs Archer said on Facebook.

The heartbroken mother said the situation is distressing for the whole family.

"We feel the nurses are wonderful and the consultants, doctors are specialists are all trying their best," she told the newspaper.

"We desperately need an MRI scan for Vicky, which will help provide a diagnosis and mean she can get the treatment she desperately needs."
