'Don't muzzle people': Shane Warne claims Australia is becoming 'too PC'

Cricket star Shane Warne has claimed Australia is becoming “too PC” and has urged fellow Aussies to “just have fun”.

Speaking in Melbourne at a launch for his sponsor, the spin king warned public figures are at risk of becoming “robots”.

“We have to be careful about being too PC on every single little thing… Don't muzzle people, don't (verbally) attack people, don't be too PC about absolutely everything, don't be a nanny state,” he said.

The cricket sensation who has been at the centre of countless scandals throughout his extraordinary career believes people should be able to share their opinions without being ganged up on, The Herald Sun reported.

“If we are too quick to judge, scrutinise, nail, kick the boot in, lay into people because they do one little thing that really isn't that bad, people will shut down”, he said.

“And suddenly you get these boring robots in every walk of life, that we don't like and then we whinge.”
