Playboy model faces jail time over Snapchat fat shaming 70-year-old woman

A Playboy model is facing charges for fat shaming a 70-year-old woman who was taking a shower at the gym.

Dani Mathers, 29, was charged on Friday with one count of invasion of privacy and could face up to six months jail and a $1000 fine if convicted.

The former Playmate of the Year uploaded a photo of the woman to Snapchat, poking fun at her.

She had snapped the photo discreetly at a Los Angeles gym along with a selfie that showed her trying not to laugh.

'If I can't unsee this then you can't either,' the caption sent with the Snapchat read.

Police investigated after it was claimed the photo had been illegally distributed.

Mathers consulted a lawyer in September after police announced they had contacted the woman in the Snapchat.

Police recommended charges over invasion of privacy.
