Hero shop owner rescues youth chased by knife-wielding attacker

The incredible moment a London shop worker risked his life to save a boy being chased by a knife-wielding maniac has been captured on CCTV.

The newsagency worker can be seen on video rushing to help a young man who frantically enters the store in Hackney in east London through the door while being chased by thugs.

The young man attempts to hold back two men trying to beat down the door with brute force in attempt to get inside.

The man tried to attack the teen with a knife.

Seconds later the shop employee, identified by The Sun as Abbas Solak, grabs the young man by his jumper and pushes him out of harm's way while attempting to fend off the two intruders - one brandishing a large knife.

Moments later, another man appears outside and fights the attackers with a mop handle.

He makes a quick escape to safety through the store door, slamming it shut behind him and joining the other two men on the other side.

The crazed knifeman beats his way through the door and swings his weapon towards the trio three times, narrowly missing Mr Solak.

The attacker is soon pulled away by an accomplice and the pair run off.

The confronting attack happened about 9.20pm on October 8 - moments after a customer exited the store, local news reported.

The trio were not physically hurt during the dramatic incident.

Mr Solak, who has run the store with his brother for 10 years, told the Hackney Gazette the man who was chased left the store before police arrived "without even saying thank you”.

Admitting the attack was "scary", he said he didn't hesitate to put his life on the line before jumping to the rescue.

“If someone’s life is threatened you have to do something.

“You have to be brave sometimes.

“I just didn’t think about what could have happened.”

No arrests were made, however police confirmed an investigating was continuing.
