Car crashes through Sydney house following dramatic police pursuit

Three people are injured and a driver is on the run after a dramatic police pursuit ended with a car ploughing through a Sydney home.

The male driver careered up the driveway and smashed into the front bedroom of a Macquarie Fields home about 3.40am on Saturday.

The white sedan was allegedly involved in a police pursuit moments before the crash.

A male passenger was taken to hospital for treatment, while two others travelling in the car were checked by paramedics at the scene.

No one in the home was injured, but a woman sleeping inside at the time was treated for shock.

Neighbour David Peek told 7 News he woke to the sound of a “big, mighty bang" and walked out to find a car inside his neighbour's house.

“We raced outside, my wife and I, and saw the car pointing into the house and police running around and calling out,” he said.

“Apart from that, she was alright and looked after by paramedics,” Mr Peek said.

The driver is still on the run. The Macquarie Fields property will be assessed for structural integrity.
