Man surrenders to police following 18-hour siege in Brisbane

A bloodied man finally surrendered to Queensland Police on Monday night, putting an end to an 18-hour siege at his home in Brisbane.

David, 40, had barricaded himself inside his Wynnum Road property in Murrarie at about 3am, following an argument with another man an hour earlier.

He handed himself over to police at 9.30pm and has been taken to hospital where he will undergo a mental health assessment.

Detective Inspector Geoff Sheldon told 7 News an argument between the two men "escalated so much so that neighbors were concerned and called".

David was caught on camera earlier smashing windows with a bloodied hand inside the house.
