Lucky escape: Excavator digger flips and collides with unit block on Gold Coast
A family has made a lucky escape after an excavator flipped and crashed through their holiday apartment wall on the Gold Coast.
An 11-year-old girl was asleep when an excavator crashed into her bedroom.
The incident occurred at approximately 8am this morning.
The machinery was reportedly involved in demolition works next door to the apartment complex when it flipped over and collided with the neighbouring building.

Unbelievably there were no injuries as a result of the freak incident.
According to various reports the driver who was operating the machinery at the time was able to walk away following the crash.
The family who are staying in the apartment building are currently on holiday.
