Battered and bruised: Pub bashing victim pleads for witnesses to come forward

On a night out with a friend Kyle Bond was hit so hard doctors needed to reconstruct part of his face.

Graphic images show the result of the vicious bashing, a battered and bruised Bond after the alleged confrontation with a security guard.

Bond suffered a single punch that knocked him out cold.

“I can understand that I was at a pub and that I was probably drunk, but I don’t consider myself that much of a threat where that much force has to be used,” Bond told 7 News.

“I actually had a fractured eye socket,” Kyle Bond told 7 News.

The incident occurred in June when Kyle was ejected from Victoria's Portsea Hotel.

He admitted that he and a friend has been rowdy. It reportedly took six security guards to remove him.

“There was blood everywhere. He was vomiting, like vomit was coming out the side of his mouth, he didn’t know who I was,” Bond’s girlfriend Emily Blunt told 7 News.

Despite his condition no ambulance was called to the scene.

When he woke up the next morning the 23-year-old went to hospital.

Bond was told by doctors that he needed on going treatment.

His treatment lasted for the next six weeks.

“I actually had a fractured eye socket,” Bond told 7 News.

“I had metal plates put in the left side of my face, pretty much reconstructed the left hand side of my face.”

7 News understands there are a couple dozen potential witnesses.

It’s believed one witness recorded the incident on a camera phone.

“Initial footage does look like it’s a bit over the top,” Senior Constable Russ Colson told 7 News.

Police have since interviewed the bouncer who allegedly threw the punch.

The 27-year-old from Frankston told police that he did it in self-defense.

It’s claimed that at one stage during his ejection Kyle lunged at a security guard.

The bouncer who hit Kyle has been suspended from working at the hotel.

Bond now wants witnesses who may have seen the vicious bashing to come forward.
