Passengers delayed by more than 13 hours after Emirates flight makes emergency landing
A redeye Emirates flight travelling from Dubai to Brisbane was forced to make an emergency landing in Adelaide after experiencing engine problems.
The Boeing 777-300ER left the United Arab Emirates at 3:20am and was scheduled to land at Brisbane International Airport at 10:20pm on Wednesday night.
Instead, it touched down in South Australia just before 9pm.
The plane was able to land safely and police confirmed that no injuries were reported from the 328 passengers aboard the flight.
Engineers and maintenance crews rushed to examine the engine shortly after the landing.
Passengers were put on domestic flights on Thursday morning to touchdown in Brisbane more than 13 hours after the expected arrival time.
