Three year old found with neck caught in rope, not breathing in backyard swing accident

A toddler has been found unconscious by her mother after becoming tangled in a backyard swing in Central Queensland.

The three-year-old girl’s mother was believed to have been tending to animals nearby on their property in Koumala, in the Mackay region, when the accident happened.

It’s believed when the mother turned back she saw her daughter’s neck caught in the rope.

The rescue crew flew the girl to hospital Thursday after the accident and it is believed CPR had been performed on the child and a pulse returned before an ambulance crew arrived on the scene.

The rescue crew landed at the Koumala sports ground at 6.55pm to meet the ambulance and take the child to Mackay Base Hospital.

She was later transferred to the Townsville Hospital about midnight in a critical condition.

Townsville Hospital told Yahoo7 Friday morning that she was in a stable condition.
