Woman unleashes foul-mouthed tirade on Sydney train
A woman has been filmed unleashing a barrage of abuse at commuters on a Lidcombe-bound train, before assaulting a man who tried to stand up to her.
Police have confirmed they are investigating the incident, which was captured on a passenger’s mobile phone.
The woman was onboard the 3.30pm train from Parramatta to Lidcombe when she began her racist abuse.
“She was being really racist towards Asian people, because she was saying ‘go back to your own country’,” witness Candy Li said.
As the young male attempts to stop the woman, she refuses to go down without a fight.
“Shut up you little c***. F*** off,” the woman yells at him before landing a punch.
The woman then stumbles back into a nearby pram as fellow commuters urge others to call for help.
“They need to push that button down there. The red button needs to be pressed,” a commuter can be heard saying on the vision.
The man easily defends himself against the woman, but Sydney Trains boss Howard Collins said the vision is disturbing.
“Safety and security are our number one priority,” he said. “We work closely with police and the transport command.”
Ms Li said the foul-mouthed incident left her shaken.
“I’ve caught the train heaps of times and I’ve never seen that,” she said.
A woman was jailed for assault and offensive language in a similar attack on a Sydney train just a few months ago.
Anyone who can identify the woman should call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
