'Nothing under a 7 boys': Elite school boys in hot water after 'rate date' video

Students of an elite Melbourne private school have been filmed rating their school formal dates, in a degrading video shared on Facebook.

The group of year 12 boys from Melbourne Grammar were filmed doing “Tinder Boot Camp” on school grounds, hunting for partners to the school formal.

The boys were filmed giving ratings of female students they planned to take to school formal.

The students were ordered by classmates not to pick unattractive females as formal dates.

The video was uploaded to Facebook only weeks after two boys were kicked out of Brighton Grammar after they set up an Instagram voting for the “S**t of 2016”.

The Herald Sun reports a parent had flagged the Melbourne Grammar video with reporters, after their daughter was issued with a rating before attending her formal.

The “Tinder Boot Camp” video shows up to 50 students using the dating app on their phones.

One of the students was reportedly heard saying: “This is Grammar boys, that means nothing, and I mean, nothing under a seven”.

It’s claimed the boys were quizzed by classmates on film, about who they wanted to take to school formal.

They were then reportedly asked to rate the girl they had chosen out of 10.

One student was reportedly asked if his date was the same girl that two other boys “went through”.

The student reportedly replied: “Third time lucky”.

Students were then asked their advice for formal and what they were most looking forward to on the night.

Melbourne Grammar headmaster Roy Kelley told Herald Sun he was aware of a “student-made” video that had been shared to a closed Facebook page.

“Melbourne Grammar School takes very seriously its responsibility to instill positive values in all our students, particularly in relation to the respect of others,” Mr Kelley said.
