Inmate linked to boiling water attack on Daniel Morcombe's killer rushed to hospital
UPDATE: The prison inmate believed responsible for attacking the killer of Sunshine Coast boy Daniel Morcombe has also been rushed to hospital.
Killer Brett Peter Cowan was earlier taken to hospital after being burnt with boiling water.
The attack comes three months after it was revealed rapist Douglas Brian Jackway had allegedly threatened to attack Cowan.
According to the Sunshine Coast Daily, Jackway had said he would "get Cowan, throw boiling water onto guards and attack any paramedics who came to his aid."
Jackway is best known for being named as a person of interest in the Daniel Morcombe murder and has spent most of his adult life in prison, for the serious sexual assault of two children.
Cowan was found guilty of murdering Daniel Morcombe in 2014.
In Febuary this year, the convicted killer was granted permission to mingle with other inmates, after being kept in isolation for two years.

According to the Brisbane Times, the 46-year-old male prisoner was given initial treatment for the burns at the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital.
He will now be transferred to the Princess Alexandra Hospital for further treatment, which has a secure unit for the purposes of treating prisoners.
The prisoner was not expected to spend an extended period at the hospital before being transferred back to the Wolston Correctional Centre at Wacol.
Earlier today, Queensland paramedics confirmed an inmate was transferred from the Wacol prison, to Royal Brisbane Hospital suffering burns to his head, chest and legs.
A spokesperson from Queensland Corrective Services said prisoner was "injured" following an incident at the centre.
At about 9.15am, correctional officers discovered him and immediately contacted the Queensland Ambulance Service.
"The prisoner was conscious and lucid and was conveyed to Brisbane hospital for treatment," the spokesperson said.
"An update on his condition is not known at this stage."
According to 7 News, the prisoner's injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
Another prisoner is being interviewed in relation to the incident.
The matter is being investigated by the Queensland Police Services Investigation Unit and the QC's Office of the Chief Inspector.
