CCTV shows hooded thugs tiptoe barefoot around Brisbane home as family sleeps

Four thieves broke into a Brisbane south-side residence and were caught on CCTV lurking through the home as family slept upstairs.

The hooded thugs were captured first trying to break into the family’s black car parked out the front of the Waterbrooke Circuit mansion after 3am on Sunday.

A few minutes later, the thieves picked the front door lock of the mansion and entered the home.

They began rummaging through the kitchen and within a few minutes they stole a handbag and the family's jeep from inside the garage.

Shamim Akhter told 7 News the thugs were tiptoeing around the home barefoot.

Within an hour, the thieves had used the family credit card and the Jeep was tracked travelling north through a toll at Murrawee before turning back.

Mr Akhter installed the security cameras six months ago after thugs broke into a neighbour's home.

“I never expected that to happen at this place,” Mr Akhter said.

The Akhter family hope someone will recognise the thugs on their security footage and help catch the offenders.
