Arsonist viewed 'a changed man' by judge launches into bizarre tirade outside court
A convicted arsonist has launched into a filthy tirade on a Perth news crew, moments after a judge described him as a ‘changed man’.
Scott Raymond Morris was filmed spitting at and yelling an expletive-laden rant towards a 7 News reporter, only minutes after avoiding jail time.
Morris , 27, was found guilty after he set fire to a derelict Chicken Treat store in Midvale, WA and sparked five more fires in nearby scrub afterward.
The fires were started along Morrison Rd and the Roe Highway on February 27, 2015.
On Friday he was handed an 11-month suspended prison sentence after completing a 12-month behaviour order for underlying drug and psychological issues.
The magistrate encouraged Morris to continue with his rehabilitation in order to get his life back on track and avoid breaking his mother’s heart.
He was considered a changed man and the judge had found his behaviour on the order had been “exemplary”.
Moments after he was released Morris was filmed spitting and yelling “f*** you dog!” and “Midland dog” outside the courthouse when questioned by 7 News reporter Jamie Freestone.
Morris then walked away while gesturing and shouting “I’m free!”
