Brutal brick bolster attack during bungled carjacking attempt in Queensland

Police are investigation after a woman was brutally assaulted in an attempted robbery in Rockhampton on Monday night.

The 48-year-old victim was allegedly attacked with axe when she sitting in her vehicle on Campbell Street.

It’s reported the female ‘brick bolster attacker’ then proceeded to open the car door and attempted to drag the victim from the vehicle.

The would-be robber then attempted to start the vehicle however was unable to do so.

The woman then allegedly fled the scene after a member of the public intervened.

Following the attack the victim was transported to Rockhampton Base Hospital for treatment including lacerations to her head and face.

The alleged attacker is described as being Caucasian, aged in her 20s, approximately 160cms tall, of a medium build with shoulder length hair and green eyes.

Police investigations are continuing.
