Tiger attack: Woman mauled to death by predator in front of family at wildlife park

A tiger has mauled a woman to death in front of her horrified family at a wildlife park in China after trying to save her friend from being eaten alive.

Security vision shows a female tourist getting out of her car at the enclosure in the Badaling Wildlife World in Beijing, unaware of the danger lurking behind her.

The woman makes her way around the car to the driver’s side and opens the door when the tiger attacks, grabbing her with his claws before biting her and dragging her away.

The driver chases after the animal, along with a second female passenger who was sitting in the back seat of the car.

According to Chinese media, the second woman was attacked by another tiger while trying to save her friend and subsequently died from her injuries.

Zoo workers rushed to rescue the family and saved the first woman from also being mauled to death.

The death was not the first for the park. In 2014 a male employee died after being attacked by a tiger.
