'Off-grid parents' slammed for allowing child to urinate on TV studio floor

As British parents were discussing their unorthodox lifestyle on live TV, their one-year-old daughter wandered off and urinated on the studio floor.

Adele, 32, and Matt Allen, 33, claim they use "off-grid parenting" on their five-year-old boy Ulysses and one-year-old girl Ostara.

The Brighton couple want their children to heal "naturally" and said they have never visited a doctor and will not attend a mainstream school.

Their alternative parenting style came under fire while speaking on British breakfast show This Morning after viewers witnessed Ostara peeing on the floor.

Just as Ms Allen was telling hosts Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes that there is no need to take supplements while breastfeeding, Ostara stood incredibly still perched at the top of the studio rug.

A small puddle of urine formed around the toddler's feet live on air and her parents didn't even bat an eye.

Ulysses pointed out the act to his dad who appeared to simply shrug it off and invite her up on the lounge.

Ms Allen went on to say Ulysses can chose when he wants to stop breastfeeding and will also get to decide for himself when he goes to school.

“We prefer to go the more free-range, natural route," she said.

"There is no need for him to be able to read and write at this age anyway."

The unorthodox couple also went on to say their children do "unschooling", which is education away from the curriculum and they also run about barefoot.

“It makes the feet stronger. It’s actually the shoes that make them softer," Ms Allen said.

The Allen family's views sparked outrage on Twitter among ITV viewers.

"Just had to watch #thismorning interview again with #offgridparenting again and I'm still gobsmacked!" Rebecca Lavin tweeted.

"I think when your kid pisses live on TV and then jumps on the couch you probably have to rethink your parenting strategies," Caity wrote.

Amy Ross tweeted: "Letting your child wee on the floor and the other jump all over the sofa? This is why there are rules and discipline."
