Man charged after woman suffers two heart attacks in 'road rage attack'

UPDATE: A man will appear in court charged in connection with an alleged road rage attack in Rainbow Beach.

A 21-year-old woman is in a critical condition fighting for her life after she suffered two heart-attacks following the incident.

Early reports suggested that the woman from Cooloola Cove had been stabbed, but it’s now understood her car was stabbed several times with a knife after she was tailgated for several blocks by the alleged attacker.

The incident took place on Tuesday morning in Inskip Ave, Rainbow Beach at a roundabout.

"It seems like it was some sort of road rage incident," the witness told the Gympie Times.

"She stopped the car and the man came up to the car and started stabbing the car with a knife."

Following the alleged road rage attack the young woman reportedly went into cardiac arrest.

Paramedics were able to resuscitate the woman at the scene. She then suffered another heart attack and was once again revived.
