Store owner wrestles 'fake' gun from would-be robber

A restaurant owner and her husband have encountered a terrifying shift at their Crazy Wings store, but the brave pair fought off a would-be robber who was armed with a gun.

Keqiu Wang is however caught off guard following the ordeal when firing the gun she wrestled off the teenager, which she believed was a replica at the time of the attempted robbery, according to CNN affiliate WAVY.

The frightening experience including her reaction to discharging the weapon is caught on CCTV.

When he approached Keqiu Wang behind the counter he reportedly demanded that she open the till's draw.

"I just hate the bad people," Wang said.

Wang and her husband Jiamde Lin weren't going to let the man get away with their takings.

"I fought with him and then Lin came in and I got the gun," she said.

"We fight together and Lin cut him and he left."

WAVY reports Wang thought the gun was fake when she wrestled it out of the arms of the young offender.

But fortunately when she decided to test her theory and fire the weapon she had it pointing to the ground.

According to the news outlet the 19-year-old would-be robber was later found down the street with a slashed back.

The teenager was reportedly charged with use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, robbery, and attempted robbery.
