Knife-wielding robber threatens staff at Burns Club in Canberra

The moment an armed robber burst into the Burns Club in Canberra with a kitchen knife has been captured on CCTV.

ACT Policing is investigating an aggravated robbery at the Kambah venue on Friday night (May 27).

The man, wearing a black balaclava, ran into the club on Kett Street just before midnight, and jumped the reception counter and entered the connecting bar.

Armed with a kitchen knife, he demanded the manager hand over money from the registers before fleeing the area on foot with the cash.

ACT Policing would not reveal how much the culprit got away with from the venue.

The man is described as 5’10” (178cm tall), medium build, wearing black pants, a black jumper, black shoes and white and black gloves.

His face was completely covered with black lycra material.
