'She's done her time': Mum facing deportation after prison pleads to stay with kids

A mother of five who was raised in Australia faces deportation to England and separation from her children due to her criminal past.

As a young woman Kelly Webb killed her stepfather with a hockey stick and a kitchen knife after a decade of child abuse.

The court served the now 30-year-old with a good behaviour bond after hearing the ‘monstrous’ details of what she had endured.

She was reportedly diagnosed with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and turned to the drug ice as a means of coping.

The mum-of-five has lived in Australia for 28 years, however she now faces deportation to England because of her extensive criminal past.

Ms Webb, originally from England, served an 18-month jail term in 2014 for burglary armed with a steak knife, News Corp reports.

Days before her release, Ms Webb’s visa was reportedly revoked by the Australian Border Force and she was sent to Maribyrnong Detention Centre in Victoria.

Ms Webb’s criminal history reportedly includes theft, robbery, document fraud and drink-driving.

Australian immigration can order the removal of a person deemed not to be ‘of good character’.

It’s law that foreign nationals who have served more than 12 months in prison face mandatory deportation.

Her mother Cheryl Webb, 51, told NewsCorp her daughter had been drug-free for the length of her sentence and had ‘pulled it together’ for her family.

She said she was devastated by the news.

"I can't believe this has happened. She has done her time".

Her mother feared Ms Webb would be left with no family or resources in England and would be forced back into a life of crime.

If Ms Webb is deported, her mother will take care for one-year-old Shae-Lee.

Her remaining children - Tyson, nine, Nakita and Chase, six, and Matthew, five - will live with their paternal grandmother in Geelong.

The father of three of her children died in a motorcycle accident in 2015.

Ms Webb told News Corp she would ‘die of a broken heart’ if she were to be deported.

She said she had never been back to England and that was informed of the deportation law three days before she was released from prison.

She was raised in Tasmania and South Australia.

"If they send me there (to England), I will die... because my kids will be here,” she said.

“I was going to be with my kids and my mum… I had never heard of the law, I cried for two days”.

Ms Webb has made no attempt to hide her past, instead she issued a plea to the government for one last chance.
