Eight-kilogram python found resting and digesting inside Sunshine Coast kitchen

An eight-kilogram, cat-eating carpet python was found curled up and having a snooze in the kitchen of a Sunshine Coast home earlier this week.

Ross and Richie from Sunshine Coast Snake Catchers were called to the Yandina home to release the predator back into its natural habitat and allow it to digest its meal.

In the video, Ross enters the home and the giant python is seen lodged behind a microwave and next to a wide variety of condiments.

With a steady hand, Ross manages to summon the reptile out of his hiding spot and put him into his snake handler's bag.

"I will admit an extra hand was usufel(sic) when we had to lift the heavy snake onto the floor," Ross wrote.

The snake weighed eight kilograms it is believed the reptile ate "somebody's cat" before resting up behind the appliance.

Ross later released the python into a " a nice tree hollow" in a nearby bushland in Yandina so it could digest its "huge meal."

The video was uploaded to the Snake Catcher's Facebook page on Tuesday and since been viewed over 50,000 times.
