New range of 'lifesaving stickers' released in bid for drivers for slow down

The Australian Road Safety Foundation has created a new range of 'life saving stickers' to serve as a timely reminder for drivers to slow down and help keep streets safe.

As children prepare to go back to school next week the stickers have been released to remind drivers to stick to speed limits.

The large and colourful stickers of children running and speed limits have been designed to be stuck onto wheelie bins.

ARSF CEO Russell White said the campaign aimed to send motorists a powerful message, as school holidays come to an end.

"We believe these stickers have the potential to have a real impact on our roads.

"We have seen some very effective road safety campaigns in recent years that highlight the danger that speeding poses to children crossing streets.

"The 'Life Saving' sticker campaign builds on this education process, by providing a real-time reminder to motorists to reduce their speed.

"If someone is exceeding the speed limit, we hope these stickers will prompt them to immediately slow down.

"Even small changes in vehicle speed can have a dramatic impact on stopping distances."

Anyone interested in purchasing a sticker for their bin can contact the ARSF hotline on 1300 723 843 or email info@australianroadsafetyfoundation.com to arrange to purchase stickers.
