'Come on dog, I'll kill you': Shocking racist tirade launched at woman
A shocking display of racism has been captured on video after a man allegedly launched an offensive tirade towards an elderly Indian woman on a Melbourne train.
Daniel, 19, from Melbourne filmed the event on March 10th at 3:30pm on his way to work and said trouble began after a man in a blue hooded jumper started hurling abuse at the older woman.
"The 'junkie' dude was saying racist comments to an elderly Indian woman, saying nasty things to her," he told Yahoo7.
A younger Asian man stepped in to stop the abuse.
"The kid jumped in because nobody else did and so the elderly woman wouldn't accumulate more racial comments or physical harm.
"[He was] grabbed by the shirt and had a few missed punches thrown at him."
There were three people who appeared to be affected by drugs involved in the incident, Daniel told Yahoo7, but the most vocal ranter was the man in the blue jumper.
In the first of three videos, he can be seen yelling and shoving the Asian man as a man in a purple shirt moved in to protect him.
"Hit a girl?... Come on let's go, dog... Hit a girl, I’ll kill you," the man is heard yelling at the Asian man.
A woman in the background can be heard reporting the event to train officials.
"Hello there’s an altercation; some racist looking… horrible," the woman said.
In one of the other two videos posted, the man in the blue jumper is seen standing next to a taller man in the aisle of the carriage, waving his arms and yelling: "It's assault, dude! It's all caught on camera!"
He manically turns his attention to the man in the purple shirt, now sitting down on a seat, pointing and gesturing violently at him.
"I'm watching you... you hit my f---ing missus... you heard what I said, mate, call the police, call the police," the man in the blue jumper rants.
The man's manic antics is shown in a series of three videos, which were shared by the Melbourne Train Stories Facebook.
The incident is believed to have happened near Box Hill station.
Victoria Police said they are aware of reports of a disturbance on a Lilydale bound train about 3.30pm on 10 March.
"At this stage it can’t be confirmed if this matter relates to footage that is circulating on social media," a spokesperson said
