The controversial footage has sparked mixed feelings on social media, with some Facebook users empathising with the out-of-pocket workers, while others condemn their actions.

“These guys probably won't learn either that this is not the best way to get back at your boss for not paying this will just land yourself in jail or with criminal charges of destruction of property regardless if you work there,” wrote one Facebook user.

“Everyone here can beat on these guys but what you don't realise is that they most likely payed for the materials,” another commented.

“Yes it's wrong in the eyes of the law but it happens so much these days to good subbies that sometimes people get fed up with not being payed [sic] and do something about it. Personally I would have burnt it to the ground!”

“He did this for not getting paid on time??? If I took that attitude with my clients I'd be well and truly out of business,” commented another.
