Robber cornered by police grabs woman and holds knife to her throat in terrifying video
This is the terrifying moment an armed robber held a knife to a terrified female shop assistant's neck during a botched holdup.
The robber invited TV cameras into the heart-stopping scene as he tried to negotiate an escape from the shop in Argentina.
Jose Alberto Gonzalez was the alleged robber and Andrea Firpo was the female worker he grabbed and held a sharp blade to her throat, the The Mirror reports.
The scene, much like one out of a movie, unfolded in a shop in Tandil, in Buenos Aires, after Gonzalez ran into the store and demanded its takings.
When police arrived at the scene Gonzalez dragged the petrified woman to a corner of the store and locked himself in.
The robber asked television cameras to be present for the negotiations so "cops would keep their side of the bargain".
Police chief Eduardo Quintela negotiated with Gonzalez through a broken window, the discussion recorded by cameras.
Eventually the robber asked cops to call his girlfriend and after the lengthy negotiation he threw the knife across the floor and allowed himself to be captured.
