It comes after the mother of a 19-year-old man allegedly involved in the brutal bus stop bashing was so appalled by her son’s actions that she dobbed him in on Tuesday.

Police shared CCTV footage of the brutal bashing on Tuesday with hopes of identifying the culprits. Investigations are continuing to identify the third man involved in the incident.

The video shows the 20-year-old victim, who had no idea he was about to be struck from behind, fall to the ground following the initial punch.

He was then assaulted a number of times at the Brabyn Street bus stop, suffering a brutal barrage of kicks as he remains on the ground.

The assault continued until a passerby intervened and forced the trio to leave.

Police believe the three males had British or Irish accents and had been at the Rose and Crown Hotel on Victoria Road earlier in the night.

Detective Inspector Glen Parks of Rose Hill Police said the attack was random.

"This is a random attack, definitely not targeted, the victim just happen to be in the wrong place at the wrong time."

It's believed the men jeered at their victim as he walked past them at the Rose and Crown.

The victim kept walking but his attackers followed him.

Police said the victim was recovering from the incident and was still shaken.

They thanked the Good Samaritan who intervened during the attack.

The mother of the alleged main aggressor recognised her son in the CCTV footage and called police on Tuesday.

By the afternoon, he had been arrested.
