Melbourne mum accused of luring ex-boyfriend to brutal torture attack
A young mother accused of luring her ex-partner back to her home to ambush him with torture has appeared before court.
The Herald Sun reported Melbourne woman Bianca Stephen was accused of luring Simon Broad inside her home before he was tortured a the hands of her partner, Tony Awad.
The police remand summary described the brutal assault as a ‘drug-fuelled attack’.
According to the summary, Mr Broad arrived at Ms Stephen's Doncaster unit on the promise of sex.
When he entered, police claimed her true intentions were revealed, with her current partner Mr Awad allegedly punching him in the back of the head.
Investigators claimed Mr Broad was then bound to a chair, gagged and burnt with a cigarette lighter.
It’s also alleged he was hit with a hammer.
Police believed his attackers paused to smoke meth (ice).
It was alleged the violence escalated when Ms Stephen told the attacker Mr Broad had turned up at the house to have sex with her.
Mr Awad allegedly used a pair of bolt cutters to squeeze the victim’s left nipple – the summary claimed.
Afterward he allegedly used a kitchen knife to stab the victim multiple times in the stomach.
Ms Stephen allegedly said she didn’t care if Mr Broad died because ‘he deserved it’.
It’s reported Mr Broad managed to escape as his captors discussed what to do with him.
He fled to a local Westfield and asked a security guard for help.
Police arrested Ms Stephen and Mr Awad the following day.
Ms Stephen did not apply for bail when she appeared before Melbourne Magistrates Court on Friday.
She is facing five charges, including false imprisonment and intentionally causing serious injury.
She will reappear in court on March 17.
