Slip, slither n’ slide: Eastern brown snake discovered ‘slithering’ in Queensland bathtub

A deadly eastern brown snake has turned up slithering around in an unusual place…the bathtub of a stunned Queensland family.

The cold-blooded creature has left people scratching their heads wondering if he was trying to take a dip, simply escaping the searing summer heat or maybe chasing a rubber ducky for dinner?

The homeowner was left stunned when she uncovered the snake lurking in the family bathroom before quickly closing the door, locking the snake in.

The mother’s next move was to call a snake ‘relocation’ company to remove the not-so-loveable critter who had decided to play a game of 'snakes and bladders' while barricaded in the bathroom.

The mother was later described as being “shaken up” from the fright of discovering the snake in her home.

The snake then quickly slithered away under the vanity of the bathroom. Source: Facebook/Sunshine Coast Snake Catchers 24/7.

The footage of the challenging ‘reptile removal’ was uploaded on social media by Sunshine Coast Snake Catchers and has since gone viral receiving more than 22,000 views and growing.

The difficult capture turned into a game of snake, rattle and roll when the eastern brown decided to hide under the bathrooms vanity.

In the post that accompanied the footage the snake catcher wrote: “ Well this Eastern Brown made a liar out of me. The resident of this property informed me that a 2 foot Brown snake had crawled up into the bath tub and couldn't get out. “

“When I opened the door it was right behind the door and a lot more than 2 feet long. Here I was thinking I had all the time in the world as it was contained in the bathroom. “

The bathing beauty was able to be successfully relocated to a more 'snakely suitable' outdoor environment, sans bathtub.

Snakes are showing up all over Australia this summer causing plenty of footage fodder.
