Machete-wielding man peers into window while unsuspecting resident sleeps
The nail-biting moment a would-be thief wielding a machete leans through the window of a residence has been caught on security camera.
The blissfully unaware Queensland resident was sleeping in his birthday suit at the time the incredibly creepy incident occurred.
The unnerving footage has since been posted to social media and has been viewed more than 87, 000 times to date.
The owner of the house posted the footage along with a detailed narration of the events as they occurred.
“This is the guy who tried to break into my house, ” Donald Swan can be heard saying on the footage.
“He goes up to the window, you see the big machete in his right hand, he’s just looking into my housemates room.”
On the footage you see the man armed with the large knife peering into the bedroom window of a house.
“I can tell you now, I for one don’t like the size of the machete,” Swan said.
“Takes his time, he’s checking to see if my housemates asleep.”
The armed man then stands there for an extended period of time peering through the window trying to find an opening.
“Has another look at my housemate, who by the way was stark naked laying on his bed ‘cause it was warm in the house,” stated Swan.
“So he’s having a good old look, he should do well in jail. At this stage he has no idea he is on camera.”
“When he opens the window that wakes my housemate,” says Swan.
Once the roommate is aware the potential thief is there a heated argument beings.
The would-be thief begins to wave the machete at the stunned resident however he is able to fight back and the armed man retreats.
As he is leaving the private property however he looks up, understanding that his actions have been recorded on camera.
You then see the terrified resident appear at the window before slamming it shut.
Swan says that once his roommate closed the window and curtain he immediately called the police.
