Inside the 'Hells Angels' police raid that netted drugs, a weapon and cash on the Gold Coast
An alleged patched member of the Hells Angels outlaw motorcycle gang (OMCG) and a 28-year-old woman have been charged following a raid at Surfers Paradise over the weekend.
Queensland police will allege they found methylamphetamine, a semi-automatic handgun and $158,000 during the raid on the Gold Coast on Saturday.
The alleged bikie, 40-year-old Samuel King, has been charged with two counts of possession of a dangerous drug, possession of property used in the commission of a crime and unlawful possession of a weapon.
A Mermaid Beach woman, 28-year-old Nikki Napier, was charged with a number of offences, including one count of possession of a dangerous drug and two counts of unlawful possession of a weapon.
“This search warrant resulted in another dangerous firearm off Queensland’s streets," said Taskforce Commander Detective Superintendent Mick Niland.
“Last week we saw the seizure of a dozen firearms, shortened firearms and weapons of all types seized from members and associates of outlaw motorcycle gangs.
“The seizure of unlawful firearms is significant for the Queensland Police Service and community. It begs the question why do OMCG members and associates need firearms and weapons when they state that they are nothing more than a brotherhood of motorcyclists?” said Detective Superintendent Mick Niland.
Mr King's court appearance has been adjourned until next week, while his co-accused Ms Napier was granted bail and is due to appear in court again early next month.
